About the Therapist
Hi, I'm Emily
I'm a licensed and credentialed speech-language pathologist and mother of two. My specialty is early language development, though I work with clients across the lifespan — but it's with young children and their families that my approach really comes to life.
My focus is early language — late talkers, first words, and the building blocks of functional communication. My work is built on a belief I don't budge on: parents are the true primary educators of their child's language development. You're the one who's there for the other 167 hours of the week, not just the 30–45 minutes we spend together. No amount of weekly therapy can compete with that.
That belief shapes everything about how I practice. I developed the Let's Talk Model to teach parents how to turn the routines you're already doing — mealtime, bath time, car rides — into real, repeated opportunities for language growth. And it's why I built my program the way I did: a focused 12-week intensive, not an open-ended weekly appointment. Families get continuous access to me through voice and text messaging between sessions, so support happens in the actual moment a strategy is needed — not just for 45 minutes once a week.
I don't believe kids belong in therapy indefinitely. My goal in every family I work with is the same: give you the tools and the confidence to make these strategies second nature, so you need me less and less over time — not more. The real work, and the real change, happens in your everyday life. My job is to make sure you're never navigating it alone.
My approach is the same with every client, regardless of age or goal: collaborative, individualized, and rooted in the belief that communication is deeply personal. Every person deserves to feel understood and respected — not just in a session, but in their everyday life.
Outside of work, you'll find me testing a new recipe, chasing sunsets in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, or spending time with my family.
